Gunnison is a great place for a casual bite to eat at prices that are noticeably lower than you’ll find in a typical resort town in Colorado. Most restaurants are nestled in the downtown zone around the intersection of Highway 50 (Tomichi Avenue) and Highway 135 (Main Street). During the summer months, there are two farmers markets in the Gunnison Valley. The Gunnison Farmers Market is held on Saturday, and Crested Butte’s is on Sunday. Check our event calendar to see if the market will be going on during your visit. It’s a great place for a late breakfast or lunch, and an even better spot to pick up tasty, seasonal produce grown right here on Colorado’s Western Slope. Late June and early July is cherry season, and Paonia peaches arrive in late August and early September.
