The community is invited to the "Thighs Before Pies" 7th Annual Turkey Trot in the City of Gunnison, Thursday, November 23rd from 10am to 11am. The "5k Turkey Trot" starts at 10am and the "1k Gobble Wobble" starts at 10:30am. Both races start and end at IOOF Park in Gunnison at 124 East Virginia Avenue.
High Country Conservation Advocates presents the 2023 Backcountry Film Festival on Sunday, November 26 at the Majestic Theatre. Doors open at 6 PM, and films start at 6:30. Tickets are available at HCCACB.org - where you may also view the trailer for this year's festival.

Gunnison Valley is also host to several beloved annual events. A classic winter event is The Alley Loop, a Nordic ski race that doubles as a costume contest. In fall, Mt. Crested Butte hosts the famous Chili and Beer Festival. Every summer in Gunnison, a crowd gathers to watch America’s fourth-oldest rodeo, Cattlemen’s Days. There are also festivals in Crested Butte that celebrate local art, music, wildflowers, and more. Attending an annual event is a good way to connect with the culture of the Gunnison Valley.
