ANNOUNCING the next production of our season to hit the stage: White Rabbit, Red Rabbit by Nassim Soleimanpour. We will have five performances up-valley at The Mallardi Cabaret Theatre featuring Andrew Hadley (March 13th), Paul Edwards (March 14th), Mary Tuck (March 15th), Regina TaFoya (March 16th), and Cindy Petito (March 17th). And down-valley at Western Colorado University we will feature the talents of Steven Cole Hughes (March 21st), Heather Hughes (March 22nd), and Que Semien (March 23rd). . “White Rabbit, Red Rabbit” by Nassim Soleimanpour is a unique and unconventional theatrical experience. The play features a single actor who performs without any prior knowledge, rehearsal, or direction. Each performance is a spontaneous journey as the actor opens a sealed envelope containing the play’s instructions for the first time on stage. The play explores themes of freedom, choice, and the power of storytelling, creating a dynamic and unpredictable experience for both the performer and the audience.
Gunnison Valley is also host to several beloved annual events. A classic winter event is The Alley Loop, a Nordic ski race that doubles as a costume contest. In fall, Mt. Crested Butte hosts the famous Chili and Beer Festival. Every summer in Gunnison, a crowd gathers to watch America’s fourth-oldest rodeo, Cattlemen’s Days. There are also festivals in Crested Butte that celebrate local art, music, wildflowers, and more. Attending an annual event is a good way to connect with the culture of the Gunnison Valley. You might even create a new tradition for you and your family and friends!
