Blue Mesa Ice Fishing Weekend (2 Days)

Are you itching to get outside and enjoy scenic western Colorado while learning a new winter sport?! We would love to host you for the weekend at Blue Mesa Reservoir where we’ll catch trout through the ice! Meet Your Guides: Ema and Erin Ema and Erin will cover everything you need to learn about ice fishing on Saturday, and we’ll spend the next day honing in on those skills to hook into fish! Skills we’ll cover include: ¥ Blue Mesa’s fish species, including brown, rainbow, and lake trout ¥ Identifying a good place to ice fish ¥ Using ice fishing rods, lures, and weighted line ¥ Using augers, fish finders, and other ice fishing tools ¥Reading fish finders to learn depth and fish presence Visit our website for more info or to register for this two day weekend of ice fishing on the Blue Mesa!

Annual events in Crested Butte and Gunnison
Gunnison Valley is also host to several beloved annual events. A classic winter event is The Alley Loop, a Nordic ski race that doubles as a costume contest. In fall, Mt. Crested Butte hosts the famous Chili and Beer Festival. Every summer in Gunnison, a crowd gathers to watch America’s fourth-oldest rodeo, Cattlemen’s Days. There are also festivals in Crested Butte that celebrate local art, music, wildflowers, and more. Attending an annual event is a good way to connect with the culture of the Gunnison Valley.
