Firebird Theatre Co. is holding auditions for its production of All in the Timing and invites members of the community ages 20+ to try out. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, January 7th from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Queen of All Saints Parish Hall (403 Sopris Avenue) and on Wednesday, January 9th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in Room 101 of Western University Leslie J. Savage Library (1 Western Way). To reserve your audition time, visit Firebird’s website: www.firebirdcb.com/timing. Please bring a schedule of conflicts and availability. Firebird Jimmy Utley (Twelfth Night, Humbug) will be the supervising director, while Emily Sharan, Addie Pond, Katie Thomas, Tristan Buss, and William Spicer will direct individual plays. No experience is required to audition, and preparation is not needed as scenes to read will be provided.Performances take place on Saturday and Sunday, March 8, 9, 15, and 16. Gunnison Valley is also host to several beloved annual events. A classic winter event is The Alley Loop, a Nordic ski race that doubles as a costume contest. In fall, Mt. Crested Butte hosts the famous Chili and Beer Festival. Every summer in Gunnison, a crowd gathers to watch America’s fourth-oldest rodeo, Cattlemen’s Days. There are also festivals in Crested Butte that celebrate local art, music, wildflowers, and more. Attending an annual event is a good way to connect with the culture of the Gunnison Valley.
