Gunnison Trails and the Crested Butte Mountain Bike Association (CBMBA) have spent the summer building, maintaining, and stewarding hundreds of miles of trails across the Gunnison Valley. Their work also includes outreach and education to encourage sustainable trail use. As the season shifts, it’s the perfect time to recognize their accomplishments and find ways to support their efforts.
- CBMBA completed the long-awaited new section of the Middle Cement Creek Trail and provides up-to-date trail condition reports.
- Gunnison Trails improved and expanded the Signal Peak trail system and hosts the annual Gunnison Growler race.
- Both organizations rely on community support through volunteering, donations and gear purchases.

CBMBA‘s mission is to build, maintain, and advocate for sustainable trails and to steward the landscape of Crested Butte and beyond.
News and accomplishments
CBMBA completed the new section of Middle Cement Creek trail #399 in September 2021. This trail was three years in the making. Go ride it!
CBMBA trail report
CBMBA reports on trail conditions in the north end of the Gunnison Valley. This information is kept up-to-date so you always know which trails are open and which trails to avoid due to closures, mud or snow. Check out the CBMBA trail conditions page to learn more.

Gunnison Trails’ mission
Gunnison Trails is a non-profit trail advocacy organization established to assist land managers and other organizations and stakeholders, in maintaining existing trails, educating users on responsible trail-based recreation and pursuing new opportunities for biking, running and hiking trails which promote sustainable trail use throughout Gunnison County.
News and accomplishments
Gunnison Trails has made significant strides in building new trail and improving existing trail in the Signal Peak trail system in summer 2021. Every May they put on the Gunnison Growler, a mountain bike race at Hartman Rocks in Gunnison.
