The One Valley Prosperity Project (OVPP) is a collaborative initiative focused on achieving a more prosperous and successful future for all citizens in the Gunnison Valley.
We love the Gunnison Valley for its exceptional natural beauty, abundant access to outdoor activities, vibrant small towns, and our ranching and mining heritage. Despite our incredible economic assets, such as the ski area and university, not everyone in our valley is thriving. Compared to many communities in Colorado, our poverty rate and cost of living are higher; our wages are lower, and we need to work more than one job to make ends meet.
We can, and will, do better. Click below to view the OVPP Strategy Report.
Ultimately, the OVPP is about taking action. Action planning committees around four areas – housing affordability, economic resiliency, tourism and recreation, and social services and community health – have been tasked with creating regionally-based action plans to address critical issues.
There are a few things you can take for granted when living in the Gunnison-Crested Butte area: clean air and water, safe communities with low crime rates, beautiful landscapes and recreational opportunities around every corner. Get the scoop on the Gunnison Valley lifestyle.
