Don’t Miss Our First Ladies Fly Fishing Clinic With Willowfly Anglers! Willowfly Anglers is an Orvis-Endorsed Fly-Fishing Outfitter / Fly-Shop located at Three Rivers Resort, where the East and Taylor Rivers come together to form the Gunnison River. They have been in operation since 1983 and employ the most experienced, talented, and safest guides in our area. We are so excited to have Erica Nelson as our guide! Erica (she/her) has over 10 years of experience guiding and instructing a variety of outdoor adventures. While she didn’t grow up fishing, Erica is a self taught angler that relied on YouTube and online communities to help her learn while living in Wyoming. She moved to Crested Butte in 2019 then joined Willowfly Anglers after completing the Orvis-Endorsed guide program in 2021. Erica loves helping all anglers feel empowered, safe, and welcome. She has also been featured in articles such as Field & Stream, The New York Times, and Outside Business Journal. She is the host of the Awkward Angler Podcast and has also been featured on various other platforms, check her out on the Orvis Fly Fishing Podcast on Finding the Right Guide. In this half day clinic Erica will help us learn the fundamentals of fly fishing. This will be a special time to learn, enjoy the beautiful outdoors, and walk away with lifetime memories. Annual events in Crested Butte and Gunnison

Gunnison Valley is also host to several beloved annual events. A classic winter event is The Alley Loop, a Nordic ski race that doubles as a costume contest. In fall, Mt. Crested Butte hosts the famous Chili and Beer Festival. Every summer in Gunnison, a crowd gathers to watch America’s fourth-oldest rodeo, Cattlemen’s Days. There are also festivals in Crested Butte that celebrate local art, music, wildflowers, and more. Attending an annual event is a good way to connect with the culture of the Gunnison Valley. You might even create a new tradition for you and your family and friends!
