Closing Weekend 2022 at Crested Butte Mountain Resort
Closing Weekend at Crested Butte Mountain Resort (CBMR) is April 1-3. Crested Butte loves costumes and a good party, and closing weekend is one of the biggest parties of the year! Skiers don wacky outfits and get their last runs in before lifts close for the season. Closing weekend this year will feature a few concerts and other events to get you celebrating the ski season.
Closing Weekend Events in Crested Butte
Pond Skim competitors will attempt to ski across a manmade pond at CBMR on their skis and snowboards. It is $15 to register. Prizes will be given in the categories of Best Splash, Best Style, and Best Costume with the subcategories of Best 60th Anniversary theme and Best Overall.
Ski Town Breakdown: Live Music Series
After Pond Skim head to Butte 66 for the afterparty! See DJ Triple L as part of Ski Town Breakdown. Send off the ski season with a drink and some good tunes!
Closing Ski Weekend Pub Crawl
The Crested Butte Museum presents a closing weekend pub crawl. The pub crawl will feature a historic walking tour to The Talk of the Town, The Eldo and Kochevar’s. Local historians and local ski professionals will present at each location. A drink is included at each location in the $20 ticket price. Once the pub crawl is over head back to The Talk of the Town for the free afterparty featuring local band Alternative People at 9pm. This event is 21+ only. Get tickets from the Crested Butte Museum.

The Grand Traverse Ski Race
The Grand Traverse is a 40-mile ski race from Crested Butte to Aspen. This year, the race happens to coincide with closing weekend at Crested Butte Mountain Resort. Cheer on the racers as they start at the base area of Crested Butte at midnight on Saturday, April 2. The finish line is at the Aspen Mountain Gondola Plaza.
