Sustainable Land Use in the Gunnison Valley

With access to millions of acres of public lands, the Gunnison Valley has a lot to take care of. More than 1,000 miles of trails span across national forests, Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands, a national park, wilderness areas and private land. Land managers, trails organizations and other community stakeholders have banded together under the STOR committee to coordinate stewardship efforts in Gunnison and Crested Butte. Help support their hard work by following the principles of Leave No Trace while you’re here.
