Crested Butte Museum

The Crested Butte Museum is a community hub featuring historical exhibits, exciting events and programming, an intimate event venue, and a unique gift shop that highlights local artists. Our exhibits explore the history and culture of skiing, mountain biking, ranching, mining, and the community over the decades, with rotating exhibits always on display. The museum calls the beloved Tony’s Conoco building home on the corner of 4th and Elk Ave Crested Butte, with part of the museum preserved with Tony’s Hardware Store still intact with original items in the display cases. Our historical building is a great venue to host your next special occasion amongst unique artifacts in our exhibit space for sit-down or small gathering events. Attend one of our historical Elk Ave walking tours, interpretive cross-country ski or bike tours, and other community events throughout the year to immerse yourself in Crested Butte’s rich history.
