The Moosejaw Outdoor Accelerator is a competitive business accelerator program aimed at boosting startup companies and increasing diversity in the outdoor industry. The program is designed for startup organizations that are in the early stage but have an advanced business plan and a prototype for physical products. The Moosejaw Outdoor Accelerator program seeks to include founders from historically underrepresented groups in the outdoor industry or businesses whose mission is to improve inclusivity and accessibility to the outdoors.
This eight-week business accelerator program is held in Colorado during early summer. Participants spend five of those weeks in Gunnison at the ICELab. The ICELab, which is located on the campus of Western Colorado University, is the business startup and entrepreneurial resource hub for the Gunnison Valley.
The program provides access to educational and network resources, strategic mentorships, legal advice, and potential investors. ICELab staff facilitate a mentoring program that provides professional guidance to the startups. Participants also get to experience the many outdoor recreation opportunities in Gunnison and Crested Butte, Colorado. In Solidarity Project will give participants access to resources that help build inclusivity, and Holland & Hart LLP will assist with all legal needs. The program culminates with exclusive product launches through Moosejaw.
