DESCRIPTION:Limited to 6 students\, this class offers a rare opportunity to explore postural alignment through the lens of yoga kurunta – the “yoga of ropes” developed by B.K.S. Iyengar using suspended ropes anchored to the wall. Iyengar drew on the ancient practice of using natural supports like vines and tree limbs\, formalizing it into a system of ropes anchored to wall hooks. Each session divides the group in two: three students work the pose sequence on the mat\, refining alignment through traditional Iyengar cues and prop work\, while the other three move through the same poses suspended in the wall ropes – using gravity and traction to access deeper opening\, support\, and structural feedback in the body. Partway through class\, the groups switch\, so everyone experiences both approaches to the same poses.

DESCRIPTION:The Golden 150 is passing through Crested Butte\, CO! The Golden 150 is a three-week bike ride across Colorado from border to border\, east to west\, in honor of our Centennial State’s 150th birthday! The route follows the Colorado section (Section 3) of the Adventure Cycling Association’s newly-launched Golden Gravel Trail. I’ll be cycling this itinerary solo and self-supported from Aug 1-21\, 2026. I’m inviting other Colorado-loving bikepackers to join me on a drop-in basis (i.e. you are also self-supporting and not reliant on a guide or vehicle support). The trip spans three distinctive regions of Colorado over three weeks: Week 1 (Aug 1-Aug 7) crosses the Eastern Plains\, from the border to Pueblo. Week 2 (Aug 8-15) crosses the heights of the Rocky Mountains\, from Pueblo to Crested Butte. Week 3 (Aug 15-21) crosses the Western Slope’s mesas and valleys\, from Crested Butte to Moab\, UT. Join for all or any of the ride segments. There will be a rest day in Pueblo\, Salida\, and Crested Butte to facilitate joining and leaving from bus-transit-served communities.

DESCRIPTION:The Galentines return to the Gunnison Valley for the final show of their summer tour\, bringing their bold\, harmony-rich indie rock to the Almont Resort. The Galentines are an all-girl indie-rock band who are the very heart of the local music scene in Boulder\, Colorado. They are known for their stunning harmonies blended into epic instrumental solos that remind the listener of classic rock bands such as Fleetwood Mac and Pink Floyd\, while maintaining their punk edge with biting lyricism. Their music “celebrates the complexity of womanhood\, capturing all of its challenges and triumphs” (Medium)\, while breaking the barriers that define the female experience. Encompassing multiple genres\, including indie\, punk and rock\, the girls just released their heavily anticipated single “Eden\,” which is now available on all streaming platforms. With Crested Butte natives and sisters Essie and Linda Horne in the lineup\, the final night of the band’s two-month tour also marks a homecoming to the Gunnison Valley. Opening the night is Gunnison’s own Tiger Electric\, delivering an unforgettable high-energy blend of garage rock\, punk and indie pop with powerhouse vocals\, drums\, bass and their signature electric ukulele. Two Colorado bands\, deep Gunnison Valley roots and one huge night of live music at the Almont Resort.
