The air is crisp\, the jokes are crisper\, and the only thing blooming faster than the wildflowers is the hilarity on stage. Our very own\, Subject2Change dives into absurd scenarios as one-liners fly faster than a squirrel on caffeine. By the end of the night\, everyone will with sore cheeks\, questionable memories\, and a newfound appreciation for the art of making stuff up-because in the mountains\, the only thing more unpredictable than the weather is the comedy!

DESCRIPTION:Fly fishers and anyone that appreciates local river ecosystems will enjoy this special presentation of the Baetis mayfly hatches in the upper Arkansas River. This free event is hosted by your local chapter of Trout Unlimited (TU) and is open to the public. The guest speaker\, Ken Iwamasa\, an author and originator of more than twenty-five fly patterns\, has published many articles in Fly Fisherman and Fly Tyer Magazines. Mr. Iwamasa’s presentation will summarize the results of his recent 2022-2024 mayfly surveys on the upper Arkansas River and provide insights into the resurgence of the Baetis mayfly hatches that occur every month on the river.

DESCRIPTION:A fun event for the kids and the whole family here in Jorgensen Park. This event teaches children about the great outdoors and some of the many things to do in our valley\, this event also teaches good stewardship of our public lands. This great event includes; free fishing pole\, archery course\, campfire safety & bear safety\, smokey the bear appearance\, stay the trail & campsite knowledge\, Boater safety\, fish ID & actually handling a fish\, casting\, fly casting\, bug ID\, free fish cleaning\, Free Lunch\, great free raffle at the end of the day. This event could not be possible without the help of the CPW\, USFS\, NPS\, TU\, West Elk Archers\, Alpine Outfitters\, Gene Taylors\, Taylor Park Marina\, City Market\, Walmart\, Berfield’s\, and the City of Gunnison. Come spend a day at Pac Man Pond in Jorgensen Park.
