DESCRIPTION:The Music on the Mountain series returns! King Stingray will take the stage on Wednesday\, August 13\, 2025. Join us at the Red Lady Stage in the Crested Butte Mountain Resort Base Area for free live music. Jenn Fortin will open at 5:30 pm. All live series openers are provided in partnership with the Gunnison Valley Music Association. Food and beverages will be served during the event. Grab your camp chairs and blankets and make plans to join us on the lawn! “Destined to be an instant classic.” Rolling Stone King Stingray is a story of lifelong friendship. Growing up together in Yirrkala North-East Arnhem Land (a very remote Aboriginal community on in the northern tip of Australia) founding members Theo Dimathaya Burarrwanga(frontman) and Roy Kellaway (guitar) have been playing and making music together for as long as they can remember. The band blend ancient indigenous melodies (Yol?u Manikay) with surf\, indie and funk influences to create their unique “Yol?u surf-rock” sound which has captivated the nation.

Come celebrate Tough Enough to Wear Pink’s 20th anniversary at the Gunnison County Fairgrounds! Gunnison Tough continues to partner with the national Tough Enough to Wear Pink organization as we keep expanding our programs to meet the needs of our local community in the fight against ALL cancers. KICK OFF PARTY We will be throwing a kick off party with music\, country dance instruction\, youth ranching games\, cowboy poetry… lots of fun activities for all ages! BULL RIDING AND BULLFIGHTING Eight teams competing to win and lots of exciting action! In American freestyle bullfighting\, bullfighters face a bull without a rider for a set time\, are scored on technique\, risk-taking\, and how well they maneuver and engage with the bull. Bullfighters are commonly seen in rodeo\, protecting bull riders who have been thrown off a bull by distracting and drawing attention away from the rider\, allowing the rider to safely exit the arena. Unlike traditional bullfighting\, the bull is not harmed in American freestyle bullfighting. BARN DANCE HOEDOWN Immediately after the Bull riding and fighting event\, stick around for a family-friendly country barn dance hoedown outside and under the roof at Fred Field Center featuring John King!
