African Drums ~ (Ages 8 – 12) Wednesdays, October 7 – 28. 4:30 – 6:00 pm. Explore the traditions, culture and music of West Africa and immerse yourself with instructor and professional drummer, Laine Ludwig. Students will learn techniques of the djembe drum, “duns”, guancogi bells as well as rhythms to several traditional West African cultures. Students will combine practiced parts to form ensemble pieces, which will be played in a culminating performance. This is a great stepping stone to learn reggae, pop, rock & roll, jazz and other genres.
